The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2011 Award recipients qualified as Two-Time Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2011 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

One thing about some wellness centers: From the outside, you might not think you're about to be pampered. The exteriors can be stale and uninviting, like a trip to a business park, so finding Arne Wellness Center in just such a complex was a little disconcerting. But even before entering the second-floor suite overlooking a large wooded lot with a pond, I started to relax. That's because Bessie Lahoz-Arne, her chiropractor husband Steve and the staff at their 28-year-old wellness practice make you feel right at home-literally, by inviting you to remove your shoes.
Lahoz-Arne started working at her husband's center seven years ago; they moved to their new location in 2004. She focuses on emotional as well as physical wellbeing and detoxification; without doing so, she notes, the physical stuff will just keep coming back. The treatment a person receives at the wellness center is individualized, because each person needs something different, she explains.
The day I visit, I'm was greeted by Maggie, who immediately brings me an orange-flavored vitamin C water as I relax in one of the many massage chairs. I already know the services are as diverse as they were extensive (ear candling, acupuncture or craniosacral therapy, anyone?).
As I wait for Bessie, Maggie offers me a foot soak. It feels great, of course, but the ionized foot bath also positively charges body via the water, and after about 10 minutes the negatively charged toxins begin exiting through my pores. The water clouds with yellow, aqua and black particles; a series of charts explains what the various colors mean. Meanwhile, a cold laser sends microshocks throughout my body, helping heal cells and tissue broken down by the toxins and everyday wear and tear, and to push more toxins out.
Then it's on to 40 minutes under the Zerona lipo laser, which is touted as a fat-reducing tool. It's new to the center (the first of only three facilities in Minnesota to have one). Little red lines weave across my abdomen, soothing, mesmerizing and relaxing. (It's hard to vouch for results with one treatment, but as it turns out, another one of our regular writers experienced a full two-week series during which she lost a total of 8 inches from an already cute figure!)

The Arne Wellness Center of Minnetonka, Minnesota will be conducting a series of weight management classes this spring to help people lose unwanted fat, improve diet and health habits, and get in shape for summer.
Minneapolis, MN, March 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Arne Wellness Center will be conducting a series of weight management classes beginning in the spring of 2010. The classes are part of a clinically studied program called the Transitions Lifestyle System, which is based on the glycemic index.
